Standard Shih Tzu

Note: This is the size category available in pet stores, puppy mills, typical classified newspaper ads, backyard breeders...but NOT the quality

raised in our breeding program! Many standard Shih Tzu get HUGE (my friends in the Imp field call them Teddy Bears, God Bless 'em, and, yikes...Lap Crushers!)... far above the 9-16 pound AKC standard and end up with awful bites

and other disappointing life long issues. Many "shih tzu" purchased cheaply do not resemble a "real"    Shih Tzu at all (Oh dear... I doooo sound like  a dog lady !)

All puppies are cute! Do you want a quality pet that will grow to be beautiful? Ours will...guaranteed! 

Our  standard Shih Tzu will stay on the smaller end of AKC standard and are bred for correctness in all areas: personality, bite, structure, etc.

Imperial Shih Tzu

Details on Adopting

We pre-screen all puppy buyers whether purchasing for pet, breeding, or Show. We reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason. (We will never, ever discriminate based on race or religion!)

We  are very likely to discriminate against anyone that ...(drum roll!) pops by our home without an appointment!

Anyone purchasing more than one puppy will receive a 20% discount off the 2nd or lowest priced puppy. This savings will apply for Repeat Buyers also!

Our puppies are priced individually between 4-5 weeks of age. At this time each baby can be more accurately accessed for pricing based on sex, quality, color, & estimated size at maturity. Our puppies are sold with limited registration. Full registration for Show or with breeding rights can be given for an additional fee to approved individuals only. We welcome all questions!

We can not guarantee a size or color of any puppy.  It is impossible to know this for certain.  Shih Tzu's can grow at different rates & have been known to change coat colors completely.  We will give you a best educated guess  based on experience,  knowing the lines &  past  litters...Mother Nature always gets the final say...just like with human beings!  

We Do Not & Will Not sell to brokers, pet shops, or puppy mills!!! Furthermore, we contractually obligate all buyers to never give away or place one of our precious dogs or their offspring into a dog shelter of any kind. We never want any of our lines to be found in mills, pet shops,  shelters, or unfavorable conditions of any kind!! We want any of our dogs/offspring returned to us for re-homing. We welcome them home for ANY reason, in ANY condition!!!

Waiting List  ~ Do you like special treatment?

A $500 "Preferential Treatment deposit" buys you a spot at the top of our list!

Please state your goals in terms of color, size category, & the gender you are most interested in. You will have the option of selecting a puppy from one of our current litters, or waiting for a future litter. Selections can be made in the order the deposits were received.  Your Preferential treatment deposit will be applied towards your Hold deposit and purchase price once you select your puppy. 1/2 Down Hold Deposit minus  Preferential Treatment deposit must than be received within 5 business days of your puppy selection (So, it buys you 3 extra days too!). Preferential Treatment deposits are Non-refundable, under any circumstances! Only after everyone on our Preferential Treatment waiting list has been contacted,  will we accept an offer to purchase on a puppy from the general public.

Keep in mind there may not be the preferred color, size, or gender choice born for the people who are ahead of you, so even with a full waiting list something still may become available & move you up on the list very quickly!

* Breeder ALWAYS reserves the right to first pick of any litter in our breeding program.

Breeder is also contractually obligated to certain picks on some litters in return for stud service and legally binding written agreements for dam co-ownership arrangements/boarding & care. ( Keep in mind, our goal is to earn Repeat & Referral business...so don't worry...we want to PLEASE you!!!!!!!!!)

How to Reserve Your Puppy

Any available puppy may be placed on reservation hold once everyone on our waiting list has had first choice option. After you have selected a puppy he/she will be placed on hold pending deposit. Deposit must be received within 2 business days from the date your selected puppy was placed on hold. Otherwise, without other arrangements, in writing, the puppy must be placed back up for adoption.

Deposit  amount is 1/3 t0 1/2 the purchase price of your selected puppy, always an absolute minimum of $300 on a puppy under $900. Deposits must be received within 2 business days of your puppy selection. Deposits are Non-refundable, under any circumstances!

No verbal holds beyond 48 hours/2 business days. If we decide not to sell to you, we will refund your money. If you change your mind or have a timing issue that's an emergency, we may elect, in writing, (no verbal agreements) to allow you 6 months to use on another one of our puppies, otherwise, no refund as we will miss out on nice homes for your puppy during the hold time honored on your behalf. 

Payment Types Accepted

We accept USPS Postal Money Orders sent via Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, Western Union, or Cash. We also use the money gram wire service offered at your local Wal-Mart. No other forms of payment accepted, including Pay Pal.

You can use a credit card, personal check, or check card at any Wal-Mart using their money gram wire service. It's super easy! Personal checks may be used for Pre-Deposits only (that's those Preferential Treatment deposits for the wait list!)

I will take cash in person...Please do NOT mail or drop off cash under ANY circumstances! Thanks!!!

Balance Due

Final Balance including shipping fees are due by the time your selected puppy is 8 weeks of age. If the balance due is not received by the time the puppy is 9 weeks old & no other arrangements have been made, in writing, the contract will be considered Null & Void, the deposit will be forfeited, & the puppy will be placed back up for adoption.
 

Shipping  

Shipping is available for $275. All shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer & are in addition to the purchase price of the puppy. The shipping fee includes: airfare, a veterinarian health check & certificate to fly, & an airline approved crate, my fuel to and from Vet, Airport, acquisition of the crate, etc. Puppies can usually be shipped around 10-12 weeks of age, although we reserve the right to determine when your puppy is ready to make his/her trip safely & when weather conditions are ideal. We will do our best to get your baby to you as soon as safely possible. Thank You for understanding! If shipping to Canada or out of the USA please inquire.

We LOVE to meet our puppies new families! Puppies with local pick up are usually ready by 8 weeks of age. We also are willing to drive, at buyer's expense, in many instances.

Health Guarantee

Our puppies come with a written one year health guarantee, current on their vaccinations & de-worming, & usually have their dewclaws removed. 

Issues of  Security & Disease Prevention

We are dedicated to making every effort to provide for the safety & well-being of your future Shih Tzu family members:

Before visiting our home, we require a set appointment, usually 2-3 days in advance. My husband must be home with me. Visits must not be longer than 30-60 minutes.

We will need the car tag # that you will be driving and your DL # plus complete information in advance: full names, address, employment, and all phone numbers. (Due to horrible things that have been reported on the news all over the country...and stories heard daily from breeders around the country regarding theft, bizarre behavior, and dog-nappers!) ( NOTE: Our driveway, home, and   property is video monitored. We video match all car tags that enter the property.)

We need to know exactly who will be coming with you.

Children are adored, and expected to be well behaved! They are welcome to hold available puppies!

Shoes must be removed in your car and we will bring medical booties out to you. Hand sanitizer will be provided inside. Please do NOT visit our home on the same day that you have visited a pet store, vet, or another breeder. (Go shop for puppy toys after your visit here!)

Clothing, including coats/jackets should be clean...having not been exposed to other breeder's homes/breeding facilities, vet clinics, or pet store animals, etc. post washing.  Please try to help us with these policies! It's very serious for the well-being of the Shih Tzu in our care and the humans who love them!.

You will be invited into the formal Living & Dining Rooms for viewing... the rest of our home is off limits so as not to expose a litter, Dam, or a visiting Sire to any carried in germs. (There is no restroom in those rooms.)

Many a kennel has been WIPED OUT by one visitor ...entire kennels! We do not have a kennel environment, just a small family of VERY EXPENSIVE and Beloved Tzu...and we work our human tails off doing this...& expectant, adopting parents are counting on us...so we are very protective of our babies!
